Rehoboth offers a unique worship experience. Although the church is in a rural, farming community, the worship is contemporary and is led by a worship band and a dedicated praise team rather than the traditional choir. While we are far from "professionals", we attempt to offer genuine and heart-felt leadership to worship.
Although the music, for the most part, is contemporary, we still try to include some of the older hymns. There is an attempt to cross generational barriers in the worship, while keeping our focus on the One to whom we are offering our praise.
Rehoboth also follows much of the traditional patterns of the Christian year by observing the seasons of Advent and Lent, and celebrating the great festivals of Christmas and Easter.
The band and the worship team are not thought of as entertainers to be enjoyed, but as worship leaders to help the entire congregation enter into the presence of God. With this in mind, we invite everyone to join into the singing by projecting the words to the songs on screens, and by inviting the congregation to participate in responsive readings and prayers. Many of the sermons are also highlighted with power point presentations and/or bulletin notes, so that each person can be a participant rather than merely a listener.
